To Odin's Wolves fell prey

The heathen army entered bay

Led by the sons of Ragnar
Marched towards the eastern gate
And before the British fortress
Struck the foe with might and hate

With sword in hand we march for war
For glory fight in the name of Thor!
For the Halls of Odin we raise our horns
With axe and shield we praise the Norns!

Victory was too simple
And the Norsemen sought much more
Thus left Jórvic absent sentries
So to raid the northern shore

Thus the city was retaken
Though just lasted for a year
As the Vikings returned in vengeance
Waging war with axe and spear

And monks wrote in their scriptures
The Norse were beasts from Hell
Even mighty Saxon warriors
One by one in death they fell
